For many years, the Cucchiara brothers have been running their stock-raising farm near Salemi (Trapani province, Sicily)
and specialising in the making of top-quality cheeses.
Our hallmarks are a passionate interest in our animals, our commitment to the work we do, and our determination to set
ourselves new targets, thereby enabling us to satisfy our cheese-loving customers – our top priority is quality (taste and see for yourself!).
It has taken about ten years to get through the paperwork, but now we are happy to inform our clients that the
Vastedda della valle del Belice cheese has obtained the EU PDO (Protected Designation of Origin, D.O.P. in Italian) label.
This ensures that it is made with milk produced in a specific geographical area, monitored by a certification body, and
guaranteed by the producer. But be careful – there are people out there trying to pass off imitation products as the real thing,
so look out for the label, and watch out for the scams.
